About Rai

Ray yoga.bmp

Rai (pronounced 'ray') has been teaching yoga since 2001.  She embodies to the best of her ability the truth of what she teaches - exploring and creating balance in whatever way yoga or life presents itself.  Yoga teaches us to meet physical, mental, and life challenges with some level of santosha (contentment) and (viveka) discernment. We try not to let things derail us…but it is an ongoing life practice both on and off the mat. Yoga supports us in this process to discover and create the many ways of letting balance unfold in our lives.

Rai teaches all levels of classes including Vinyasa, Gentle, Yin, Introduction to Yoga, Prenatal/Postnatal, Partner, Family & Kid Yoga.  She leads workshops, retreats and teaches Prenatal Yoga Teacher Trainings for 200 hour RYS (Registered Yoga School) certifications. She is the Lead Teacher for the Bellevue College 200 hour RYS Yoga Teacher Training Certification Program.  All levels of students are invited to be curious and enjoy discovering varied options (by modifying or challenging) in their practice. She is a rollerblader, rock climber, mother, baton twirler, Girl Scout, bicycler.

“The Quest of Effort is a place where I begin where I am, and playfully find balance over and over again.  I spiral and split but in the end I am still whole.”  (Rai)
